Chajuana purchased her first male Great Dane puppy in 2020 after doing some research about the breed. She discovered that despite their giant, demanding stature, Great Danes make great family pets with appropriate training and socialization. Originally bred for hunting wild boar and guarding estates in Germany nearly 400 years ago, the Great Dane is typically very alert, swift, courageous and protective.
When Chajuana welcomed her second Great Dane puppy she eventually decided to breed the sire and the damn. The pairing was successful, and they produced a healthy, beautiful litter of black, merle and harlequin pups in 2022. Chajuana decided to not only continue to breed but invest into a small kennel business doing so. All profits from the program will help fund her daughter’s college tuition and housing.
By now I’m sure you’ve figured out where the kennel name originated. Chajuana enjoyed watching both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon series so much that she was inspired to name her kennel, House of Danes. She knew she’d never own a true dragon, but a Great Dane would be the next best thing!
